The art of rolling over with Jim Caldwell

Buzzworthy - Feature It!
Charles Dimino wrote this 8 months agoPermalink

Some were skeptical of Jim Caldwell when he took over for the now retired Tony Dungy.  I was one of those people, but starting 14-0 does silence a great deal of doubters.  I mean it’s tough to lose too many games with Peyton Manning running the show.  The man calls most of the plays himself for God’s sake.  Caldwell, however, found a way to lose with Manning.  It’s simple.  Don’t play him.

What kind of message are you really sending to your team if you pull everyone in the third quarter with a 5 point lead?  You have a shot at history here.  Not to mention this game had playoff implications.  Texan fans had to be thrilled when Indy waived the white flag and gave this one to the Jets.  I know Peyton Manning looked ecstatic there on the sidelines.

Here is a little friendly advice, Jim.  Don’t piss off the league MVP and former Super Bowl winning QB.  If he wants to play, let him play.  It is sad to say, but this one might come back to bite Caldwell on the ass sooner than later.
