The Celtics put their 6-0 mark on the line tonight at home against the Phoenix Suns. Sure the Suns are 4-1, but they are coming off a 22-point thrashing at the hands of the Magic.
Good defense always beats good offense, kinda the same way good pitching always beats good hitting. And that's why the C's will dominate.
I have a gut feeling Ray Allen will have a break-out game. Look for him to exploit the Suns transition defense, spot up for 3s and snap out of his three point shooting funk. Also look for a big game from Rondo. He dropped 32 points, 10 assists and 23 points, 7 assists in the Celtics two blowout victories over Phoenix last year.
Phoenix does have weapons, mainly Steve Nash. He runs the show. It's tough to contain him, but if you can limit his scoring, then consider it a job well done.
The Celtics will lose if they play anything like they did against Minnesota. Ok - that's an obvious statement. They could also lose tonight if they don't play defense on the three point line. As a team, Phoenix is shooting 45% from beyond the arc. Nash, Jason Richardson, Grant Hill and even Channing Frye can pull the trigger.
The Suns depth is thin. Center Robin Lopez is out, and Leandro Barbosa (wrist) will be a game-time decision. But the Celtics second unit cannot sleep on the Suns reserves. Jarod Dudley, Louis Amundson and Goran Dragic can play and should not be taken lightly.
